Victor Muhammad Director of Community Outreach

Established by the visionary educator and scholar Dr. Khalid el-Hakim, the Black History 101 Mobile Museum stands as a renowned repository comprising over 15,000 original artifacts, spanning the painful era of the trans-Atlantic slave trade to the vibrant culture of hip hop.

The Black History 101 Mobile Museum has embarked on a remarkable journey across 43 states, sharing "ourstory" with over 1,000 institutions. For three decades, these highly sought-after exhibits have profoundly impacted individuals in diverse settings, including K-12 schools, colleges, corporate spaces, conferences, libraries, museums, festivals, places of worship, and cultural events.

The scripture teaches us that we are destroyed due to the lack of knowledge. This is the right time to put the mobile museum in its historical and cultural place so we might save our future to ensure we are not destroyed.

Your exhibit has continually enriched, enhanced and enlightened our program attendees with an extraordinary display of Black historical artifacts. I am deeply grateful and thank you again for your generosity.

We as African people in struggle too often have had short-term memories as a way to anestisize our pain, but the Black History 101 Mobile Museum wakes us from our slumber to heal our wounds.
